OVERVIEW

WHAT DOES LBU STAND FOR?

LBU stands for Lò Bánh Ướt.

  • Lò means “factory”

  • Bánh Ướt refers to steamed rice sheets

  • Saigon is where we were born and raised in Vietnam

LBU Saigon is more than just a casual takeout noodle shop — it’s a reflection of family, culture, and the stories we grew up with.

Our Story

Founded by Dan Vu and his daughters Trang, Trinh, and Truc, LBU Saigon brings the flavors of Vietnam to the table through recipes inspired by the meals that shaped our childhood. From slow-simmered broths to handcrafted ingredients, every dish is made with intention and care.

Our Philosophy

Our approach is deeply inspired by the way food is made in Vietnam, where small noodle stalls focus on a few specialties, preparing everything fresh in small batches each day.

We carry that same philosophy into our kitchen. Our day begins as early as 5 AM, making fresh handcrafted noodles and rice sheets from scratch. By the late afternoon, around 4:30 PM, we’re often sold out — just like the vendors back home who start early and close once the food is gone, ready to do it all again the next day.
